31/11/11 Discovering Rio in a rainy day...

Of course we don't want to remain at Sofitel which is "a bit" out of our budget and we prefer to move to Letitia mum, Mireille, who has a lovely B&B (link) just few hundreds meters from the beach.

There we meet also Fanny, the sister of Letitia and tourist guide, who gives us plenty of good suggestions to, still, enjoy this rainy  second day in Rio...

First step of our tour: the popular market in the "Centro".

 There you can find basically EVERYTHING!

And it is absolutely authentic place, we have almost the feeling that we are the only tourist in the area...

We continue our tour loosing ourself in the constract of this city where the reachness of the past and decadence the  present create, together, its "charme" and its brutality.

A city where the skyscrapes of the rich businness center grow just attached to the historical buildings and closeby the poorest favelas.

Hanging around we also pass in the Lapa quartier with its  secret corners.

 Like the stair created by a local artist: invisible from abouve and totally colored from below.

Nevertheless the rainy and cold not really tipical carioca weather we really enjoy our first day in Rio!!!
