Second 5 stars camp. But the night was colder then in the airport:

No comments...the park is a really good introduction for this trips, going up and down on the pists in a wild landscape.

And also a single trail to test the maniability of our bikes.

Between yesterday and today we did more or less 50km. Material and muscles seems to react well. Tomorrow if the weather is good, we start to pedal to the north.

Arriving by plane above The Beagle Channel, 21.30 and there is still light...

After few mechanic operations, bikes and luggages are ready...but it's midnight and the police allow us to sleep in the Usuaia airport: First 5 stars camp !!!

After the first quite cloudy days the sun finally came and, together with Letitia, her kid and Fanny, we could enjoy a great sun bath at Copacabana!

Then in the afternoon, in order a too serious tropical sun burn, we decide to stop the beach session and make the second compulsory visit at Rio: the Cristo Redentore.

Even if we both manage to burn our shoulders, backs and bottoms, it was definitly a pleasant day!

Of course we don't want to remain at Sofitel which is "a bit" out of our budget and we prefer to move to Letitia mum, Mireille, who has a lovely B&B (link) just few hundreds meters from the beach.

There we meet also Fanny, the sister of Letitia and tourist guide, who gives us plenty of good suggestions to, still, enjoy this rainy  second day in Rio...

First step of our tour: the popular market in the "Centro".

 There you can find basically EVERYTHING!

And it is absolutely authentic place, we have almost the feeling that we are the only tourist in the area...

We continue our tour loosing ourself in the constract of this city where the reachness of the past and decadence the  present create, together, its "charme" and its brutality.

A city where the skyscrapes of the rich businness center grow just attached to the historical buildings and closeby the poorest favelas.

Hanging around we also pass in the Lapa quartier with its  secret corners.

 Like the stair created by a local artist: invisible from abouve and totally colored from below.

 Voili, voila that's all for now!

Nevertheless the rainy and cold not really tipical carioca weather we really enjoy our first day in Rio!!!

Here we go!

Now we have just to bring our 2m long bike boxes all through the Paris airport till to the Air France check in point...

Luckily there was Letitia, brasilian Air France hostess in holiday, who help us with the luggage.

And finally here we are in the plane!

Thanks to Arthur oncle, the flight pilot, we can fly for free in Businness class...

 Definitely have nothing to complain!
